Learn to SPELL YOUR NAME, instead of trying to conquer galaxies
As you ought to know, John Travolta is a Scientologist, or so they say. Scientology is a mediocre piece of very silly fiction, made up by L. Ron Hubbard, also known as Elron. John Travolta wanted to make Elrons ‘Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000‘ into a film, and guess what? He did. Only the first half, though, because the film is considered by many to be the worst film ever made and didn’t get a sequel.
I had seen it on TV some years ago, and recently I decided to buy it. Not because it’s a good film, but because I remember it as a great comedy (that’s why I bought the CD ‘The Very Best of The Temperance Seven’ and the film ‘It’s a Wonderful Afterlife’ at the same time).
If you haven’t seen the film, you can still enjoy ‘Battlefield Earth (HOW DID THIS GET MADE? #6)‘ and Chris Stuckmanns ‘Battlefield Earth – Hilariocity Review‘. There are many more podcasts about this film available, but these two sum it up nicely: when making a serious film, don’t put the camera at a Dutch angle in every scene, don’t end every other scene with mad laughter and “learn to SPELL YOUR NAME”, instead of trying to conquer galaxies.
